Senior Maintenance Planning Engineer

Position Purpose
The Senior Maintenance Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and controlling maintenance planning and scheduling activities for plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and major maintenance work. The role ensures effective integration of maintenance plans with Operations, Engineering, and Responsible Care teams to optimize safety, cost, schedule performance, and asset reliability. The position contributes directly to achieving departmental KPIs through accurate planning, progress monitoring, and performance reporting.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality maintenance plans and schedules for planned and unplanned plant shutdowns and major asset maintenance activities.
- Implement and maintain company planning and scheduling procedures and best practices.
- Ensure maintenance plans prioritize safety, environmentally critical, and safety-critical work orders.
- Monitor work execution, control progress, and ensure compliance with approved schedules and cost targets.
- Manage and control maintenance backlog, ensuring volumes remain within acceptable limits.
- Ensure CMMS (MAXIMO) data accuracy, including work orders, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Develop agile schedules capable of accommodating emergency work with minimal impact.
- Coordinate maintenance plans with Operations, Engineering, Reliability, and Responsible Care teams.
- Support preventive maintenance and inspection plan implementation in coordination with Asset Management.
- Follow up on shutdown materials, spare parts readiness, and contractor overtime control.
- Support shutdown readiness reporting, KPI tracking, and performance analysis.
- Participate in daily progress meetings and follow up on inspection and shutdown action items.
